Engineer/Producer/Studio Manager Gabriel Mann graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in music composition. He was scouted by Ruffhouse Records in 1995 and given a production deal at Studio 4 in Philadelphia, with producer Jiff Hinger of Boyz II Men fame. After moving to Los Angeles to attend USC's film scoring program, Gabriel worked for television composers Russ Landau and David Schwartz, with whom he wrote, orchestrated, engineered, mixed, and produced music for various television series. Gabriel is perhaps best known for his a cappella recordings, having mixed and produced many award-winning albums in the genre, for groups like The Bobs, Spiralmouth, Ball in the House, The Blanks (from the TV show "Scrubs"), and an extensive list of collegiate groups. He produces music on a daily basis for all manner of projects, including demos, feature film recordings and remixes. Mann performs his original piano driven pop/rock regularly throughout Los Angeles (www.gabrielmann.com), and his vocals have been featured in X-Men 2, Arrested Development, Disney's Brother Bear, NYPD Blue, Brimstone, The John Larroquette Show, and Mike Judge's feature film, Office Space.

Engineer/Web Designer Kevin McKeever graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a BA in Music Synthesis and Sound Design, and while in Boston, added to his impressive keyboard resume (which includes a 1992 performance in Carnegie Hall) by acting as the music director and accompanist for 3 local theater companies. After moving to Los Angeles, he quickly became a sought after commodity for his uncanny abilities to troubleshoot, disassemble and often re-assemble Macintosh computers and ProTools systems with lightening speed. This talent has placed him on the speed dial for pretty much every studio owner, home musician and computer enthusiast in LA, yet despite this time-consuming fact, Kevin continues to design websites for local studios and artists, front his own Jazz and Rock bands, and play keyboards for Vanguard artist Julia Fordham, and will be featured on her live concert DVD due out at the end of 2004. Other engineering credits include; a 1 year stint with Virgin Entertainment, where he recorded Train, Suzanne Vega, Jonatha Brooke, Old 97's, Moke, and Devo among others. He also recently engineered, mixed and performed on the soundtracks for My Baby's Daddy (Miramax), Sleepover (MGM), Imaginary Heroes (independent) and Whilrygirl (independent).

Owners Chris Miller and Rebecca Kneubuhl built Asylum Recording studios in 1997 after studying audio engineering with Mike Wolff of Music Box Studios in Hollywood, California. Rebecca is a film and television composer with network credits which include The O'Keefes (WB), One On One (UPN), The Geena Davis Show (ABC) and episodic music on such shows as Will and Grace (NBC) and Good Morning, Miami (NBC). She has also contributed music to Fox Interactive's "No One Lives Forever" and "Dark Angel" video games. Chris and Becky both have extensive performance and production experience with the a cappella vocal group Spiralmouth, whose debut album garnered rave reviews. Their best collaboration recently won a halloween costume contest (She's less bald now; equally chubby.)
